This link is to a thread that has the drawing that came with my setup:drawing

I just got a similar aquaFX setup.
Important--when you push a tube into the john guest fitting, it is not going to come back out again so make sure you've got the right amount of tubing.

Mine came with a T fitting that I placed inline with the cold water to the sink faucet. Then run a tube between the T and the inlet of the sediment filter (you may have to screw in a guest fitting to the filter housing).

Thread the 90degree ball valve to the top of the tank. The storage tank stores RO water and will connect to a T fitting between the RO and DI stages. The taste/odor polisher will come off that same T.

The straight ball valve threads to the outlet of the DI housing. Connect a tube to the DI outlet--that's where your aquarium water comes from.

Hopefully the drinking water faucet that they sent came with a diagram of how that gets stacked up. That gets connected to the taste/odor polisher.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I forgot one thing:
coming off of the RO housing is the waste line and/or flush kit if you ordered one. run that line to the sink drain. My drain is PVC. I drilled a 1/4" hole above the trap which the tubing will fit perfectly into. Don't stick the tube way in, just far enough so that it doesn't become a trap for gunk coming down from the sink. Seal with silicon glue. It's never under pressure, so it doesn't have to be industrial strength. This was the easiest part of the whole thing.

Lastly, mount the thing so that it doesn't fall over, etc. It'll get heavy when it's full of water.

Very cool that helps me a LOT - only problem now is that nobody sent me a drinking water faucet!!!

So am I correct in thinking you don't want to drink the DI water? Does it just kill the taste to take all the dissolved ions out?

dbman-
I think it's just a little overkill to drink DI and will shorten the life of your DI stage.

FYI here's the TDS numbers I got
Tap Water - 250ppm
RO effluent - 35ppm
DI effluent - 0ppm
and for comparison
Aquarium Pharm. Tap Water Purifier - 1ppm

Also, they mine was shipped in 2 boxes: tank in one and everything else in the other--maybe you've got another box coming.

dbman, it sounds like you did not get all the parts. A drinking water kit contains more than just the tank and a ball valve.

Here is a description of what Spectrapure drinking water kits contain...

"SpectraPure's drinking water kits include a space saving 3 gallon pressurized tank, a manual tank shut-off valve, a water conserving auto shut-off valve, a long reach faucet, a 10" post carbon filter, an elbow check valve, a feed valve, a drain saddle and all necessary tubing and fittings. The auto-shut off valve maintains a constant supply of stored water and shuts off water going to drain when tank is full. The 10" post carbon filter removes any bad taste or odor. "

Here's the link.

Here is a pic of Aquafx's drinking water kit.

Email or call Dave at Reef Pure and ask him to confirm the parts. He also posts here on Reefs Org.

dbman, aren't you just a little curious why you ordered one system and got another.

I mean no where in your post did I read that you called the company you bought it from to inquire about this, have them fax you directions, etc...

Well, yeah, honestly I am a little surprised; I actually thought mine was lost in the mail since it took 3 weeks from when they supposedly shipped; I spoke to them last night in search of a tracking number about 30 minutes before the system showed up, and now I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to figure out what happened. As I said, though, I'd be just as happy with the Reefpure as the AquaFX, I just ordered the AquaFX because they were having a good sale on the 100 gpd 4-stage; if the price and product is the same I don't care what brand it is, I just want my RO!!!

If your planning to keep it, I would E-mail Dave. I e-mailed him a week or two ago with some questions I had about cutomising the dringing water kit. He got back to me right away, was willing to work with me to make the system the way I wanted and offered what I considered to be a great price. I haven't ordered the unit yet, but I plan to as soon as I save the money I need. I'm sure he will help you out. This is the e-mail address I used:

good luck

Hi guys - I just unexpectedly recieved a reefpure system (after ordering an aquaFX system from marine ecosystems) and I'm a little confused... it came with a little booklet on how to start it up and replace the filters and stuff, but no installation instructions; I have no idea how this is all supposed to go together, what order the cartridges should be connected, which valve should go where, etc.

I also got the "drinking water kit" which so far only includes the pressurized tank and one more ball valve.

Since I didn't really order the reefpure system in the beginning I'm not sure what I should expect; everyone seems to like them so if I can figure out what to do with it I guess I'll keep it, but I'm a little surprised after hearing such good things about reefpure, there isn't any better documentation as to how this should all be connected, etc.
