For all those who have PM'd me and all those who are going to PM me:

There is nothing for sale at this time.

Thank You,
Steven

For reasons I cannot discuss at this time I am going to have to downgrade my 92 corner to a 28 gallon tank.

The 28 gallon tank:
  • 20"x20"X"
  • 20" 150w sunpod fixture w/ 14k Phoenix
  • Aquac Remora, pre filter box and mj1200
  • Iceprobe chiller
  • 150w stealth heater
  • Seio 820 & Rio 1400
Livestock going into the tank:
  • Yellow Pagoda 4-5"
  • Green Hairy Mushrooms- 12 heads on an 8" rock
  • Frogspawn- purple w/ 6 heads
  • Frogspawn- green w/11 heads
  • Bubble coral- green opens 10"
  • Bubble coral- purple opens 6"
  • Blue mushrooms about 10 heads on 6" rock
  • Blastos merletti- 30 heads on tennis ball rock
  • green wellsophyllia- 6"
  • Anthellia- cover a 12" rock.
  • 5" leather also on the same rock
  • GBTA on huge rock. Going to have to try and get him to move.
  • Two small GSP that are spreading onto to surrounding rocks
  • Three Kenya tree frags on one small rock
  • One nickel size yellow leather
  • One quarter size purple leather
  • Zoos-rock 30 polyps. The others have been moved into the Aquapod
  • Yellow tang
  • Coral beauty
  • Pair of maroon clowns
  • Green Mandarin
  • Hawkfish
  • various snails and crabs
I was planning on adding some new sand into the 28 and just make a quick swap using the 92 tank water. I'm concerned with the fish. They are a bit aggressive and don't know what they'll do in the smaller tank. They have been together for over a year. The CB, YT & the Clowns killed a Singapore Angel I tried to add about 4 months ago. The poor fish didn't have a chance, it didn't even make through the night. It was a constant assault.

Are there any issues that anyone can for see?

Thanks,

Steven

The yellow tang is not going to fare well in the 28g, especially with a fish as big as the coral beauty in there. Also, make sure you have enough pods for the mandarin... when you add new sand, you may eliminate some of them.

The tank downgrade should only be for two months. I need to get some work done and the tank has to move. What if I put the Coral Beauty in 24g Aquapod, the only fish in there now is a small false perc?

The 92 is a BB, so the mandarin has been picking the pods off the rock. He does eat mysis.

With the new sand, use a handful of the old just to seed it.
You're aware of the fish issue. IMO, too many big fish in a small tank.
I'm actually worried about the pair of maroon clowns getting aggressive.
Of all the fish I've ever had in a nano, maroon clowns were the feistiest.

The other issue is flow and aquascaping...which you can sort out.

Froggie,

There's no old sand. The maroons are bastards but they don't bother the CB & YT because they are bigger. The mandarin & hawkfish are smart enough to avoid the other four.

Ops, didn't see it was BB.
So I'm guessing you had a lot of live rocks in the 92? How much LR are you planning to put in the 29?
On the 92, since you were running BB, you must have had good skimming and high flow.
My only concern in switching to sand on the 28 is if you have enough nitrifying bacteria, hence the need to seed it. Since you've got less water and pretty much the same bioload, your levels will rise. I wouldn't be surprise to see a mini-cycle. I would suggest setting up the 28 in advance to seed the sand or use those lives sand in the bags sold at LFS. I agree with the idea of putting your coral beauty in the 24pod. Back when I had a tank, my Osc. clown held his own against the Coral Beauty.

With 2 bubbles (10", 6") and 2 frogspawns, you may have some placement problems, both in their reach, and even their physical size. I'm not sure you can place all 4 without giving them the ability to sting everything in the tank. Can you fit 1 bubble and maybe 1 frogspawn in your 24 AP?
