What gives with my Little Giant!?

Hey all,

I had not looked at my tank for about a week or so until today. All of my specimens are fine etc, but I did notice something. It seemed like the water was calm inside my tank, when usually it is has tons of current (like an actual reef). Anyway, so I investigate the problem and it seems as though my little giant is putting out not even half the power it used to!

What is going on here? I turned all the lines (refugium etc) that run off it and it is putting out nothing near what it used to!!

Anyone else heard of this? It is not an old pump at all.

check the intake, see if its not full of calcium deposits, or a snail is stuck in it.

I've had itr happen a few times (snail shell)

Also check your impeller. I take mine apart every now and clean it. Make sure you oil your motor a couple of times a year also. Thats' not related to the flow problem - I just threw that in.

It's ok, MediaOne, happens to the best of them from time to time. It's good you have the confidence to share this with us and discuss it openly.

I don't have a Little Giant at the moment, so I really can't help you, I just wanted to show my support.

But... good news! My Little Giant is up and running again!

All I did was clean it, and all the performance is back!
