I currently have a 55 Reef - Well Partially finished anyway.
Due to space requirments, I can't get a bigger tank currently I have a wet/dry sump and am wanting to leave that and then add 2 30 gallong sumps in the other room - One w/ a 6"DSB and the other w/ lots of rock and lighting to grow out rock and coraline -

Question is how much can I stuff in a 55 w/ this type of setup -
Corals, Fish, Etc.

I am not looking for SPS, maybe 1 but I don't think I have enough light -
2 175watt 10K MH and 2 110VHO Blues.

I am thinking of circulating somewhere around 2500 GPH total w/ the 2 sumps and Wet/Dry -
I mainly like small gobies, Clowns, Especially percula's -

Thanks for the input.

A couple of perculas would be great in a 55.

As for me, I have 1 false perc, 1 royal gramma and a few cleaner shrimp in a 30. I added a citron goby to the tank one month ago, but I haven't seen him since.

That is plenty of light, but I concur with the previous poster, work your way "up" to SPS etc.

In my 55 I've got a Pyjama Cardinal, Coral Beauty and a pair of Tomato Clowns. I've got mostly LPS corals in there, Candy, Tooth, Galaxia, Scolymia (donut), Torch, Pipe Organ & a couple of leather frags etc. I have 4 x 55 W PC over my tank. Everything's happy and most of my show corals I've had over one year and they are growing, despite my delinquency at dosing stuff.

You could actually keep SPS with that lighting; you should probably start with easier stuff until your tank gets stable though. I have probably a good 12-15 different corals in my 55 - leathers, polyps, open brains, two different SPS, etc. As far as fish go; with small fish you probably won't run out of biological filtering capacity; I think the guide is if each fish has its personal space - for example you don't want to crowd in a bunch of gobies that all want to sit on the sand or they'll be unduly stressed. Add slowly; you'll know when the tank is populated.
