This morning at 4 am when I got in my shower, there was about twoce the normal water pressure. (a good thing). This got me thinking about my RO membrane on my ro/di unit. When I hook it up to my kitchen sink, The pressure guage reads in the "too low" pressure- But I get clean water out of the good side, and lots of water out of the waste.

So, does this mean that some water is permeating the membrane and becoming 'clean'?

I don't have a TDS meeter, or I would check it that way.

Does anyone know (without a TDS) if I ma getting actual RO water?

Yes you are getting R/O water. The reduced pressure just makes your unit Produce at a slower rate. My spectrapure units output rating is based on 60 psi. My unit came with a chart that shows how output is affected by input pressure.

Your unit is working fine just slower than its rated output.

Try hooking your unit up directly to a large water line and set it to run at night so your pressure would be maximized. If your a nite owl like me then that is not a problem.

Hope that helped.
