I am looking into buying one of these for my return. I have a 120 reef ready. The pump will replace another pump. The sump is in the basement and water will travel up about 8 feet. There will be a T because I have two returns, one on each corner of the tank. There is 6, 90 degree elbows. It is all piped on 1 inch pvc. The pump recommends 1 and half inch pipes but I would like to know how much flow I will be getting out of this pump with the set-up I have now. I really do not want to change all of my plunbing to 1 and a half inch. Will the amp3000 give me good flow or do I need a higher model.

Thank you

If you use 1" you will basically be wasting the ampmaster. According to the makers... plubing the unit from 1.5" down to 2 1" outlets (thats two) it reduces the flow from 3000 to 1500. so I can only imagine what the 1" plus all the elbows and the tall height would do to it. I would say probably not worth it. I would consider and Iwaki 70. They are 1" and rated for pressure.
