Hi,

I have a question. I recently got a bubble tip anenome. It's been in the tank now for about four days. He has move once. I have tried feeding it, with no luck. It will open up and look very nice, tentacles out looks good. Then for some reason it retracts to a very small size.
I checked my water quality everythings ok there.
I this normal behavior. Or is it still adjusting to it's new home. Any tips would be helpfull. Thanks in advance...

PS.

I have a 75 gal tank. With four 96w pc. 2 10000k and 2 atinics. Just because I know someone will ask this question.

How do you feed it? What did you feed? How much (size wise do you feed each time)? How big is the anemone

Well I have tried feeding it mysis, brine, some prime reef. When he is looking good he is about 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Then he shrinks down to about a little bigger than a quarter.

I would prefer to know your water parameters(S.G.,temp,water motion...)

Until then,I will let you know that anemones inflate and deflate to replenish o2 and other nutrients and to remove wastes.

As far as feeding goes,BTAs prefer meaty foods like krill, squid,or silversides. You should not force food, but you should place it gently into her tenticles. She should grab the food and slowly pull it toward her mouth.

Not to flame you,but these are things that should be researched before a purchass. Feeding and anemone behavior are both thoroughly covered in the most basic of books.
