Ok I think I determined that my 30G cube has a bad case of brown jelly disease...
Others have mentioned 14day vitamin c treatment. (liquid variety)

my nitrate levels are very low
I have very low phosphate levels
Only use RO/DI water (so silicates should be low)

I do have a Eibli Dwarf Angel, it may be aggravating corals...

Anycase, Has anyone here ever had this and if so, how did you defeat this bacterial growth!!!

Please help
Thanks
Andre

All the SPS have this brown stringy 'jelly' over them... it's also on the live rock and on the sand
It's hard to determine exactly where this is coming from...

I've dealt with brown jelly disease. For me, the affected corals were always Euphyllias. I'd usually frag the affected branches and toss them. They were usually dead anyway. I'd dip the remaining coral in a Lugol's solution and hope for the best. Sometimes the colony died, but on occasion, the colony continued to thrive.

I've never heard of brown jelly affecting rocks and sand, which leads me to believe that is not your problem. Can you confirm with photos?

I've been trying to figure out if my problem is cyano algae...
I've taken some pics, I'll try to figure out how to post online...

I'm gonna check parameters again. This stringy algae has 'coated' everything.. Very very slimy, almost like a mucus...

Thanks for trying to help out...

If it is the Brown Jelly disease I jsut delt with it and Dean actually helped me out with that link. I used "Reef Dip" and followed the direction and I have no more tissue loss. It was on my red lobophillia and I lost 2 heads in a matter of three days. Good thing I cuaght it soon on the thrid.

I guess very thin stringy hair-like algae is the cyano...
It's odd, since this is a kind I've never had... SO
this may not be the 'brown jelly disease'

I'll try to post pics tomorrow
