I am trying to decide what to do at my desk at work. I am thinking of a small nano reef, but saw a kewl little jellyfish setup at the LFS.

I inquired a little on what was involved, but didn't spend to much time asking questions. They require a circular water movement with lower tank temps (~65F). What else is required? Will it be less maintance than a 5 gallon reef (with water from my 55gallon)?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Styk33-
I too have seen these little setups in LFS shops. I would be extremely wary of purchasing such a setup for sea-jellies (the PC term for the biologcally incorrect name "jellyfish"). Sea-Jellies tyically should not be kept in home aquaria save "upsidedown Jellyfish" which are sedentary benthic species similar to corals in that they harbor symbiotic algae. Pelagic (open water) jellies are difficult to house in small aquarium environments because they tend to get caught up in aquarium fiter intakes and other decor. Feeding jellies can be a challenge as well, they generally feed off planktonic organisms in the ocean.
My advice: go with a mini-reef

Don't do it.
Unless they have a specialized tank called a kreisel, they won't survive long term
