If I decide to go with 3 MH and 2 actinic on my 125, could I use simply FL actinics? Cause I already have some ballasts from old shop lights, could save considerable $$$ with only FL.
i'm starting mine with mh and vho actinics. i already have the icecap660 ballast. This ballast tends to prolong the life of the lamp, so if i get a year out of my mh and actinic, the ballast will pay for itself in lamp savings. Also i understand pc's don't come in true actinic and won't flouress as well as vho or standard. using a regular tar ballast with actinic will probably only give you 6 months life of the lamp.
