How many of you have quarantine tanks?

If you do, how do you manager the changing bio-load when the tank does not have fish in it? If you use new water each time you put the tank into use, does the tank cycle every time?

What type of filtration setup is best?

I know this is probably the wrong way but what I do is use my main tank to fill the Q tank and when doing water additions or cleaning I also use the main tank water. In my Q tank I dont attempt to cycle the tank... Rather, I control the harmfull elements using some type of over the counter remedy like Amquell for ammonia etc.
I dont attempt to keep the tank full at all times... I only fill it when the need arises. and of course there is no sand or coral or live anything in the Q tank except for the qaurantined specimen.

I would say if you need filtration it is best to leave the filtration as minimal as possible, (Like floss and or a sponge)

BTW as you can tell I only use my Q tank for harboring my new or sick or injured fish. If I plan on keeping the fish or whatever quarantined for life then I think it would either belong in the refugium or its time for another tank.
Lets see 1,2,3 and a new #4 cycling as we speak, I think this harboring of fish is possibly becoming addictive.
