All,

I recently saw someone post somewhere on using a Maxjijet 1200 on a CPR Bakpak skimmer. Seemed like a good upgrade, and I thought I'd try it out with some old stuff I have lying around. I'm interested in ideas, however, on how best to connect the two, as the pump output with the venturi attachment does not connect easily with the skimmer. Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin Collins

You need to take the grey connector out. The pump should fit into the black "L" shaped peice. Then you need to get a venturi valve retrofitted onto the maxi jet. I think premium aquatics sells them.

The mj1200 should slide right into the cpr tube just like the Rio, a little tighter fit but it will stay. Premium Aq does sell the venturi adapter last I looked, I scavanged the mj off an old seaclone.

I have had varied results with this, I would definetly reccomend getting a screw type air valve to put on the end of the venturi line to fine tune the air flow. Performance on mine was not very good without it.
