Is it alright to leave dried seaweed or lettuce in your tank for an extended amount of time? Right now I do not feed my fish either. I used to but I do not want to foul the tank by leaving it in too long. Is seaweed safe to leave in until it is eaten or should it be removed?

I usually put it in (seeweed selects or nori) during the day and it is eaten quickly. I never leave it out overnite.
