Received my maroon clowns from Greg Hiller yesterday. They came nicely packaged, and didnt seem stressed at all. They are his tank raised gold stripe maroon clowns, and both are super healthy. I requested small ones, and these guys are about 3/4 inch long, I was hoping they would pair quickly.
Well I went back to work after adding them to my tank, and when I got home they where in the corner dancing around each other. One has turned much darker than the other, turning/becoming the female I assume? They havent left the place where they began this behavior, and seem to bump heads and bodies and switch from head to tail to head endlessly. I broke them up at first to see how they where swimming, and both seemed perfectly fine, and quickly went back to the tango.
So I assume this is some kind of pairing behavior? How long do they tend to do this? Very cool to watch, and I am happy they have adjusted this quickly. If your looking to get some paired maroon clowns, I can highly recommend Gregs clowns. He posts on this forum, so a search will help you find his info etc.
Any help or web links on this pairing behavior would be great.
