I just ordered a PM HOT-1 and for anyone that has one I have a few questions for you, first, how big of a cutout will I need to make in the back of my canopy to fit it? Im hoping to cut out the hole this weekend but wont have the skimmer until Monday or Tuesday, the other thing I was wondering is how far back and up does it go? I appreciate the help

Sorry, but I suggest waiting until you have the unit. The pvc tubes going in and out will need 1.5"x 1.5" cutouts, spaced about 6" to 7" appart, but you will have to account for the 3" plastic pracket that holds the skimmer on your tank. Since it's a little more complicated that 2 simple cutouts, I'd suggest waiting until you have the unit in your hands before making the cutouts.

I would just wait until I get the skimmer to do it but if I dont cut it this weekend I wont be able to mod the canopy for at least another month perhaps two. Do you think if I cut up from the top of the tank level 2" to 2 1/2" and over probably a full foot that would give me enough room to be safe? Or maybe even 3" up? Im not too worried if the hole is oversized I just want to make sure it will be big enough
