Wasted Pellets

Maybe a silly question but I've been trying to make at least one feeding a day with Formula 1 and Formula 2 pellets.

I have 13 fish in all... 5 Chromis, 3 Lyretail Anthias, Pair of Green Mandarins, Scott's Fairy Wrasse, Eibli Angel, False Perc.

I have an automatic feeder coming so I can get some food in the tank mainly for the anthias although everyone seems to eat the pellets but they're not crazy about them yet. I've been noticing that whatever food doesn't get sniped when it falls just sits on the sand and rots away. Are there any flakes that can be used for Anthias with success or any other dry food?

This is important for me since my wife and I like to go away on the weekend.

why not just put fewer pellets in each compartment and let it feed 3 times a day?

The auto feeder is still on it's way here so I've been hand feeding smaller quantities... I just want to make sure the fish are getting enough food. They sink from top to bottom in about 5 seconds so if the fish don't get to them fast enough they lose.

you got 13 fish in there, they should be able to pick off those pellets before they sink to the floor, and at least one of them should get smart enough to realize they can eat off the floor using the '3-second-rule'

how deep is your tank? and how many pellets do you feed at a time?

tank is 20" deep and I feed maybe 50 at a time? 25 of each.

The current will still be on with the autofeeder so it may buy them a little more time.

although i never used one.
my pellets also sometimes sink everywhere,but i have lps,crabs,shrimps,stars,snails,etc to hunt down anything my fishes missed.
