Assuming it is a Dendronephthea, I can't recommend it. They are non-photosynthetic planktonic filter feeders. Most aquarists have had very limited success with this coral even when dosing DT's phytoplankton.

this is yet another coral that should not be sold in stores. only but a select few professional aquarist should be allowed to have these to study there requirements. until we learn what there needs are they should be left in the ocean. i am very pleased you are asking questions first. that is very respectful of the species. i just told my lfs which is one of the better ones that he should not carry them for obvious reasons he did listen with open ears. i suggest you do the same.

I have actualy done a lot of reserch on this type of coral and everthyning yold to so far is corect. but what i have actualy seen is this coral needs a HEVY suplement of somthing like DTS on the day of feedong you would need to turn your skimmer of so the coral could get as much as it could. and one other thing i have found out is the coral needs a strong water flow and a low light are. like one of the little cave in you tank would be good and most live upside down on the rough of caves. i think if you were able to do all this you would have a much better chance. but creating to corect inviroment and feeding it can be 2 dificalt things. i have seen people keep them long term but only a few.

I agree with the above statements. I have had scleronepthya for a few months now(similar to dendro but supposed to be easier to keep). Upside down in a cave with excellent water flow, DT feeding daily, water conditions excellent - and I don't think the coral is going to make it. Out of six branches, only to are opening to feed.

I personally would not attempt dendro.
