I have a large hammer, not exactly sure if it's ancora or pancora. Lately I've noticed some large, translucent bubbles on a few of the stalks. If I had to guess, they look like polyps that filled with air/gas. The largest bubble is about 1 inch in diameter. Can anybody tell me what exactly these are, their purpose, good or bad, etc??????? Thanks!!

I believe I read about a similar occurrence in mushrooms, that is a result of excessive gas exchange linked to the amount of light they are exposed to.

Too much light and the gas bubbles form. But I am going on memory. What is your photoperiod/wattage and tank size ?

do the bubbles recede at night if so try moving the coral down in the light column
