Are these gobies good for a 50 gal with 3.5" dsb southdown 1 month old? 50 lbs LR and corals. I was thinking that they can keep the top layer of sand from developing green or brown algae by sifting the sand. Also what do they eat?
Thanks

Do not make the same mistake I did! Do a search on that goby, it has a poor record for being kept alive! It does sift the sand to eat critters but it is one of the gobys that will not live long in an aquarium! Mine perished quickly. I should have researched that goby before getting it.

Here's a passage from this link!

web page

Although it is a primary displacer, the signal or twinspot goby (Signigobius biocellatus) should be avoided because it is difficult to keep. Even when kept with live sand and supplemented with fresh or live foods they tend to lose weight and starve to death.

I just found this on ffexpress website
"These fish are relatively easy to maintain but they should not be kept with other bottom-dwelling fishes or large crustaceans."
Maybe they have to be kept in pairs. Oh well, I will pass on them.
