Was in the LFS today and the owner was showing me a jar of olive shaped/sized balls that he retreived from his reef tank. Says they grow in clusters and then break off and float around the tank. They were semi clear in color with a bit of green on the inside. I thought it looked like descriptions I've heard of valonia but I've not actually seen it before. They put a couple of the balls in their show tank (BAD move in my opinion) and offered some free of charge to me (I DECLINED the offer!!) I told him to get an emerald crab or two and check his water quality.
