my skimmer die looking for new one .what is the best one out. i have 180 reef

I have Lifereef VS3-60. It works great on my 150 gallon reef tank with a 30 gallon sump. I rarely need to adjust it and it has a feature called "constant venturi cleansing" that reduces the amount of maintenance required.

There are more powerful skimmers on the market, but I really like the Lifereefs becayuse they are built like tanks by Jeff Turcheck @ Lifereef AND because they skim extremely well, without the "overskimming" that can happen with some of the more intense designs.

There is no single "best" skimmer. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages.

Euroreef-simple design, excellent quality, low power consumption, quiet, very good performance. But: proprietary pump.

Myreef Creations-low price, excellent quality, very good performance, upgradeable, custom sizes available, good customer service. But: require large pumps to work properly.

AquaC new EV series-use relatively small pumps, great customer service, performance supposed to be comparable to similar Beckett models, lots of features. But: so-so build quality, kinda pricey.

Lifereef-excellent build quality, near-flawless design, CVC feature, very good performance, etc. But: pricey, made in small quantities.

You are gonna get quite a few different opinions on this and mine is the Aqua-C EV model. I have had nothing but a positive experience with mine. I run the EV 150(older model) on my 90 gallon and run it on a timer for 8 hours at night. It Performes incredibly

I have heard alot of people comment on the Lifereef in the board. Sounds like it is worth checking out...

Maybe I will have to upgrade someday. Although it is kinda fun to argue about the CPR hahah.
