I see that best buy has this camera at an OK price, is this worth the $400? Does it have a macro mode, and are you happy with the camera for your tank and general use photos?

Yeah, I have this camera and am pretty happy with it. My only complaint is with the color rendering. For some reason the camera has too much red in it. I switch the lighting settings often, but still there is too much red when I take pics of my tank.
Other than that, yes it has a macro mode w/ min. focus distance of 4 cm. Takes awesome close-up shots. USB connection is great. Battery life is good. Size of the camera is nice - it is tiny. You'll have to get a bigger flashcard soon. I found a nice cheap 128 MB card on ebay. The camera makes great little movies too. A good buy.
