I just started dosing Kalkwasser into my 90 gallon fish only tank over the last week and a bit. I started doing this as a means of killing off the Dinoflagellates I had in my tank, as well as maintaining a high calcium level for my coraline algae to thrive off.

Today I noticed that where the Kalk drips into my tank, there is a percipitation all over the hose. I use the Kent AquaDose system and its on the orange thing that I am finding the white percipitation. Does this mean something?

Like maybe I should stop dosing because the tank is supersaturated or something?

I just check my Kh and its about 14... 13.5

and my pH is around 8.4, 8.5 (where I wanted it to take out the Dino's)

should I be worried?

Thank You

MediaOne,
IME it's no big deal. The build up is a normal thing. I just chip it off and from time to time flush the drip system with white vinegar to keep down the build up.

Thanks for putting my mind at eaze guys,

one thing I have noticed change since I started using the Kalk is my water clarity. It has become so much clearer since I started using it. I think I had algae blooms all the time or something, and now that the phosphate is percipitated out it is preventing that from happening. Whatever the reason though, my tank is looking awesome.

Later guys,
