Who has drilled their AGA overflow grill?

I took a pair of needle nose vise grips to mine and removed every other "tooth" in my AGA overflow. I probably should have used tin snips or even better a dremel tool, but I didn't have either. It increased my flow dramatically. I went from running a LG4 at 3/4 capacity to running 2 Iwaki MD-55RLT's full out.

How did you do it? What size did you make them and how much did it increase your flow?
