I just bought a crocea clam. I have a 50 gallon tank with 2 175w MH bulbs. I put him on the bottom of the tank on the live sand bed. Is he going to be happy there or should I elevate him to somewhere on the live rock??

Hi Scott,

T. Crocea like intense lighting so after he acclimates to your water and light, I would slowly move him up.

Exactly what Barry said!

By the way, this is Ferd. I see you are making good use of these forums. Great folks over here.

I'll have to come over and check your tank out. Sounds like its changed quite a bit.

Talk to you soon.

Oops, sorry Barry. I was actually responding to Scott who is also a friend of mine and whom I recently referred to these bulletin boards.

He's been converting over from a fish fish only tank to a reef system and noticed he's made quite a few upgrades. So, I'll need to check out his system to see how its progressing.

But hey, after the great clam I got from you today I'd love to come by and see your set up too if I'm in the San Diego area.

put a small cupped shape rock in the sand so the clam can attach to it. Then you can move it a will, providing it likes where you move it
