I am looking for suggestions how to best connect the 1.5" bulkhead (from the overflow)to a flexible PVC pipe. Most pipes I found in HW stores do not fit on the bulkhead. The PVC pipe will then lead into the intake of my Turbofloater skimmer.

Two things (and I'm a beginner myself so not a real expert but do have my plumbing all done):

1) I don't think the overflow will provide enough pressure for your skimmer-- don't you need a pump in there as well?

2) As for how to connect, I too was having a hard time of it at hardware stores... best bet is a good fish store, or call marinedepot.com via their toll free # and they'll talk you through all the fittings you need (they spent 1 hour + on phone w/ me).

Thanks for the comments. On a different board, I got the advice to use a nipple adapter to connect to the bulkhead. I will check into it.

The incoming water preassure to the skimmer is sufficient. I have read a few threads on the gph requirements for the Turbofloater - they all recommended a low gph (can't recall the exact number) - which made me think of at least trying to directly connect the overflow to the skimmer intake. The Turbofloater works just fine this way.

Just found the solution - a photo is worth more than words....
