I'm two weeks into cycling a new 75 Gallon reef tank filled with about 100lbs of Fiji live Rock.
Daily testing shows minimal ammonia, and no nitrite or nitrate. I know it's a little early but I was expecting SOME ammonia by now.
My current average reading for ammonia is .2 ml/g (1 day I had .4 ml/g, the highest, and today it was back to 0.0).
The live rock I purchased was from a fish store and had been cycling in bins before I got it. I have no idea how long it was there although I know it couldnt have been more than a week.
Any ideas? I'm was considering adding a damsel or two to try and get some ammonia build up to start the cycle. Maybe I'm just being too impatient....
Thanks!
John
