I'm planning on buying a Iwaki 70RLT (1500gph at 5 feet of head) for my 150XH (48x24x30h). The return will be plumbed to two 3/4 inch sea-swirls, one in each back corner. Do I need to worry about this setup blowing down any corals I put up high in the tank, or causing a sandstorm?

Please respond soon, as my wife says I have to order this weekend.

Hal,
You might even fall into the "low current" classification with just 1500gph in a 150g tank.

I run about 2500gph in my 180g and don't consider it overkill by any stretch of the imagination. I also run 2 3/4" SS devices and love them. They just don't reach reach the bottom of the tank well without creating some pretty strong linear currents that sweep across the corals. I opted for the Y fittings and creating as much turbulence as possible in the upper half of the tank, and rely on MJ1200's for the bottom half.
