Would these guys be able to handle each other in a 46 gall? I'm guessing the pugnacious P. Pseudo won't stand for it.

I just put the same 2 fish on hold 2 days ago. Did some research and decided to let the pseudochromis stay in the store (I've got a 75). When I called to take release it, the girl said that it came from her tank because it was so mean that it killed one of her chromis and had been harassing her clown. The basslet is being acclimated as we speak

They are gorgeous fish though - but there's plenty of others out there.

And it turns out the basslet is a Western Atlantic fish. and the tank is strictly indo.

I have one purple pseudo (P. fridmani) together with two royal gramma's (brazilian!) in my 50 G among some other fish..

No problems so far, just a little fighting when i added the gramma's

Orchid dottyback's have a completely different disposition than purple pseudochromis, dispite their near identical appearance. However, the fridmani comes at a price - $$.

What's the diff. between a "regular" and brazilian royal gramma? Do they have different coloration or behavior?

I know the fridmani's are a little more expensive, but they're also quite calm.. He even doesn't bother my fire goby!

The Brazilian gramma's grow a little larger than the 'normal' ones. The difference: they miss the black band on the eye, fins have a thin blue line..

I got my brazilians for the same price as the 'normal ones', because the guy in the store didn't see the difference

I love my purple pseudo and had very little problem with him when I added a occelaris pair after a month. I've heard that you can remove him temporarily, or put him in a tupperware floating in your tank (to seperate him) for a day or two and give them an attitde adjustment that way but mine quickly got over whatever problem he was going to have and my tank is only a 29g.
