An excerpt from my bible, the book NATURAL REEF AQUARIUMS by John Tullock.....
"Chromis are damselfishes that form shoals (the definition of this word is fish schools) in open water over reefs, where they feed on plankton. An excellent choice is the Blue-Green Chromis (C. Veridis), a native of Indo-Pacific waters."
I have these Blue-Green chromis in my reef tank and they are peaceful fish. If you get more than five they will school/shoal.

Starcki damsel is a model citizen in my tank. In the past I've had a good experience with a careulian (not sure of spelling) damsel (same genus as an allen's but with a yellow belly and tail).

regarding the blue-green chromis, yes. theyre completely chill, attractive fish. make sure that you get several(i had 7, and they schooled), and that the tank is peaceful overall.

as far as clownfish go, yes, theyre damsels. false percula clownfish arent aggressive by any means. however, there -are- aggressive clowns, so be weary.

either of these species are readily available from your lfs or online, and i think both are excellent choices. im certainly pleased with mine.
