anybody use PFO VHO ballast

I'm about to replace my icecap VHO ballast- but I just saw the pfo ballasts for $39 at Premium Aquatics, as opposed to $179 for the icecap. Just says it runs 2 to 4 lamps. Anybody know if these work ok?

It worked well for me when I was using it but recently I am back to running an IceCap 660. The PFO dual retro consists of a metal ballast box that contains 2 seperate ballasts. Each of which runs only one bulb. The $39 ballast you mentions would be one of these usually offered as a replacement. I suppose you could hard wire one of these yourself to endcaps but you will only be able to power one bulb with each ballast. The retro comes completely wired with endcaps and standoffs (no assembly required).

I believe the ballast you are looking at will run only one 2'-4' bulb, not 2-4 bulbs

I like PFO for PC and MH but for VHO go ICECAP!!!!!!
