What to feed my new mantis?

I found and removed a mantis shrimp from my 75g reef tank on thursday. He lived in the sump for a couple days but now I have him in his own 3g eclipse tank which I plumbed into the main system.

The only problem is that I haven't seen him eat. I put a small piece of thawed scallop in the tank with him but he doesn't seem too interested in it. Should I get some uncooked (probably frozen) shrimp?

What do you mantis keepers feed?

i have fed them live fish, but thats easy for me because i can catch them. it should eat the scallop, just give him a while.

Offer it something alive, it'll motivate it to kill and then it'll eat. Try a guppy.

Mine eats everything from flake food to brine shrimp. Also bring him/her hermits and bait fish from local waters. Was picky at first now will come out of the rock work and perform for dinner.
