I cant seem to get my calcium levels to go about about 380 ppm. Currently I'm adding daily Liquid Calcium (Kent) and dosing Kalkwasser about every 3 days.

My coraline growth seems to have slowed dramatically too.

I also seem to have and ever decreasing alkalinity problem. I need to add buffer (Kent also) about every other day, maybe every 3 to keep the alkalinity at a reasonable reading.

All my other chemistry seems fine: Ph 8.0, Alk 9.0, Calcium = 360, Nitrite = 0.0, Nitrate = 0.0, Iodine = .02 (this is an average day). It's a 75G (48x24x16) with 4 96W PC's (2 daylight, 2 blue).

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks!

What exactly is your alk? It is supposed to go down with Calcium--for every 0.5 meq/l decrease, Calcium should go down ~10ppm.

You're adding a lot of stuff. You could probably use only kalk if you dripped it daily. Things are easier that way. If I only dosed every 3rd day, I'd be hosed--my calcium would be way low and an my alk as well by that last day and it would take a heck of a dose to bring it back up-->stress to critters.

Drip daily.
