Hello I have a Colt coral that is approximately 5-6" diameter but there is one point at a small stalk that the colt branches that appears to be white. The polyps are still extended at past the part where it appears white.
Is this some kind of bacterial/viral disease? Is it bleaching where I need to cut of anything beyond this stalk? Or should I do an iodine dip or something?

Thanks

I am not familier with that problem, but if it spreads or if the affected area begins to fall apart the I would cut the branch off an inch or so below the the white area.

what is the temp in your tank, if it has gotten to hot it can cause it to bleach. i had a colt bleach in the summer durring a high temp swing.

I might just do that but I turn the powerhead away from it now. I am not sure if the extra water flow to it is causing any harms although I believe that colt corals do not necessarily like strong currents.

Temperature is 80C right now but you could be right about the temperature swing. Cause I recently install a new hood on my Metal Halide and haven't put in the fans (until today). The odd part is that the area affected is directly in the line of a powerhead ( 1 ft away).
Today the tip of that area appears like it's mushing away. So do I just cut it and place it back into the tank?
