My LFS is selling these. Kinda cool looking, but I was wondering if anyone knows about them. I can't find anything about them in any of my books, or online. It has a whitish body with two parallel brown or black lines running from the head to the tail on each side. I has a spot in between the lines just behind the head that seemed to be a pale fluorescent blue. They pick up a mouthful of sand, and kind sift it out their gills, if that helps. Any help in true identification or care is greatly appreciated. If it will fit, I would love to have one in my tank.

I don't know the scientific name of this fish, but I have seen them sold as Australian Railroad Gobies. I guess it got that name from the 2 stripes looking like railroad tracks. They are sand sifters so they probably have the same requirements as a golden head, an orange spot, or barred goby.

Alot of people fail to keep them and other sifters alive even when they eat, and they will totally denude your sandbed of pretty much all life outside bacteria. Not to mention that they get sand all over everything...
