I currently have a 37 tall with a 55W PC and a 17W NO light. Pet solutions had CustomSealife PCs on sale at 20% off. Will adding a 65W Brite Light (1/2 daylight, 1/2 actinic)PC to my 55W PC give me more flexibility wih my lighting (120W of PC)?? Or will the benefits be marginal??

Thanks!

It sounds like you have plenty of light already unless you want clams or sps corals, and you'd want metal halides for them anyhow. How'd you get that much wattage over a tall 37 gallon tank anyhow? I have a 55 gallon pentagon and the most light I can fit above it is 96 watts PC and 15 Watts NO. I've been keeping corals without problems: hammer, torch, open brain, bubble tip anemone, bubble, star polyps, yellow polyps, trumpet, leathers, mushrooms. I'd say feeding regularly makes a difference.

My 37 gallon tall is 30x12 footprint. I currently have a glass top and the All-glass 55W PC and all glass std NO fixtures fit back to back on the glass. The plastic (1 1/2 inch on the back is not covered by a light. If I add another PC, the NO has to go and I won't be able to add it until I build my DIY hood to rais the lights up 2-3 inches. At that time, I will remove the glass top and replace w/egg crate.
