i feed everry other day...

in my fish only tank...1 majestic angel, porcupine puffer, two gobies, a lion, 3 damsels, and a lyretail wrasse...

everyone seems happy...feed mostly frozen stuff but i mix it up all the time...all kinds of stuff in good portion...

anything wrong with that?

Just curious - why every other day? I feed my fish every day, usually twice a day. One feeding is spirulina and maybe some mysis or something. Second feeding is everything else. First feeding is kind of light - second is heavy. I figure fish eat all the time in the wild, why shouldn't they in our tanks? I know some people feed way less than you and I do. I just don't understand why - maybe their afraid of nuisance algaes. I can't imagine any other reason.

actually...my fish are pigs...i dont want to have a toilet bowl for a tank...this gives a chance for them to get at all the food (even small particles) in the tank...seems to be working...
it isnt me being lazy....i think...lol

Dont you think the Lion will make lunch of the gobies and damsels? Eventually it will grow large enough and wont be able to resist IMO.

THE GOBIES ARE BIG AND MEAN...they will be around for a while...my janitors...a diamond and a pallate (best sand sifter around!) the lion is about 3 inches so it will be a while before they have any trouble...as for the damsels...its the only way i will ever get them out of the tank...fast suckers...they also will be allright for a long while....

Everything I have ever read about anthias says the should be fed 3-4 times a day, unless there is a very productive refugium. Then the feeding should be twice a day. Good luck.

When fish are well fed with appropriate food their immune system will usually handle most calamities.
When fish are not fed they stop growing and may not be as prepared to handle fluctuations in water quality, aggression, etc.

Frozen food every other day may keep fish alive but is not the best thing to do.

I feed my fish 4+ times a day, mostly natural food (sea-shells, shrimp, crab ...) and I cannot remember when a fish here got sick.

In other words, fat fish = happy fish.
