I haven't been able to successfully post pics on here. So here goes another try.

Hope this works and hope you all like my reef. I'm fairly new to the hobby.

Thanks for the compliments. This tank had gone thru a major crash last month and its just now starting to recover.

The cam I used is an Olympus C2100 Digital cam.

It's a 90 gal tank with a CPR wet/dry...removed all the bio bale and let the live rock be a major part of the filtration

DanmHippo....seriously do you think I may have a flat worm problem? Like I said this tank recently crashed...lost several mushrooms...an open brain...and my star polyps just wouldnt open and still dont.

Aren't the spots on the stripped mushroom flatworm? And if not what are they? I always wondered what those spots on my mushrooms were.

Uh, Mouse, look at the pic on the mushroom. Those ARE flat worms. There are some on the leather as well.

mrgoont, take those mushrooms and leather out, dip in a bucket of freshwater with same temp, shake them while you are dipping them in freshwater for about 10 seconds should be able to loosen most of them. As long as the flat worms infestation aren't too bad, the freshwater dip should be able to rid most of them.

Danmhippo,

You see them on the toadstool as well? Where?

So the spots on the mushrooms are flatworms?

And you're saying that after the freshwater dip the spots she disappear/

No, they don't disappear, but they loosen and fell off the surface. Try the mushroom and see for yourself.

The pic you posted, you have 2 toadstools, I believe I saw some on the one on the left. It is much more difficult to spot them when the polyps are extended. Turn off the light for the polyps to retract and look for the brown spots. I may be wrong, but I think I saw one or 2 on the toadstool pic.

I didn't see any on the colt.

Danmhippo,

I see what you're talking about with the toadstool. I just did the dip on all my mushrooms and the toadstool and just like you said they started falling off.

Do you think I should do a dip every few days to be sure I got them all? I couldn't get all of them off on the 1st dip and I didnt want to keep them stressed too much longer.

Yes you can repeat the freshwater dip as many times as you want. Just keep at least 3 days apart to be safe.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Thanks for the help Danmhippo I'll keep an eye out for more worms and dip as necessary.
