Has anyone gotten word on whether or not any major fishtank company is developing lightningsticks that you put in the tank when the room is dark to provide a glow in the tank?

Could you please explain to me what a lightningstick is? I'm very new here and want to learn as much as possible.

Regards

Do you mean Glow Sticks that Candy Ravers have. If so then yes you can put them in just as long as they dont break.

I thought I heard about something like this being all the rave out east. The fish tanks all have them in it but it was found to be harming the fish somehow. I remember hearing something about it but I can't remember what exactly.

Effective now, I am now Call Me...Jim? instead of Call Me...Gerald. I just can't go my life calling myself by my middle name all the time. My name is James Gerald Limpo, and I have went by Gerald for quite sometime, but an hour ago all the sudden I've decided to go by my true name. Sorry for this, but I just wanted to get it off my (burly) chest.

For those of you who don't know, lightningsticks are sorta like those glow tubes used at raves and they're supposed to be put in your tank when the room is dark and they are nontoxic to the species in there and they create cool light effects. I read that one company was looking to manufacture them, but nothing was set in stone yet.

anyways, if you want cool lighting effects you can buy lazers from Hagen. I dont know how cool a bunch of fish with detached catterach would be, but the lazers would rock.

hey James Gerald Limpo, those lightningsticks may cause cancer in your Gold Fish, I wouldn't use them if I were you.

These lightningsticks are different. As I said, they will supposedly be non-toxic and won't harm the fish at all.

hey James Gerald Limpo, I heard that if you cut the lightningsticks and pour the contents in with your Gold Fish that it will cause them to turn florescent green.

Excuse me, but I detect a hint of sarcasm here. The lightningsticks are supposed to be perfectly safe and I just think they'd be a smashing way to show off my tank when I have friends over.

hey James Gerald Limpo, I heard that sometimes your Gold fish will use the lightningsticks when they fight, and that it can look like a Star Wars movie, very cool.

Please cut out the sarcasm, DEADFISH. The fish aren't supposed to pick up the lightningsticks. They just float to the bottom of the tank and provide a comforting, yet harmless glow and add to the aesthetic appeal of the display.
