I just got some nice frags from Sue Truett, three of which are montipora Capricornis, one green, one orange and one is a greyish color. None seem to be expanding polys. The other corals I received expand nicely, and look great.

How much should the polyps expand? Should they look furry like the other montipora (digita) frags I have? Can anyone post pics w/ polyp expansion on the montipora capricornis?

They are in my 180G reef, w/ 3x400W 6500K MH, and 4x96W PC True Actinics.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Had the pleasure of recently visiting Sue`s home and seeing her GREAT tank.

I have also seen some debate about if what we laymen call montipora cap. is actually this species. I dont know.

I have two montipora spp? similar and they are not as "furry" like the digita type.
You have to look real close to see the polyps.
Here is a close up of my orange monti and this is about the most the polyps are ever out.
