Okay, for those of you who pitched in advice on my angelfish dilemna, I finally decided on a coral beauty. I found a fairly large, gorgeous fish that looked real healthy. I acclimated him over about 2 hours, released him, and I haven't seen him since. She found himself a cave at the back of the tank and hasn't moved...not once. It's been 24 hours and he hasn't shown himself. I obviously can't get her to eat. Any suggestions? What can I do to get her to eat/come out of hiding. I'm not so worried about her being shy, but I'd like to see her eat something at least.

I've had three coral beauties (one lost to a heat wave, one jumper, one happy in the tank right now). Each hid when introduced to the tank. Each eventually (though it can take a long time) eventually became brave enough to hide only when seriously disturbed - sudden movement near the tank, etc. Never had feeding problems either - if this persists, try live brine. Everything love live brine!

I have a royal gramma that i added about 2 weeks ago and he did the same thing I didnt see him for 3 days except for him to peek out and grab a brine shrimp as it passed by.
Now that he has adjusted a little better he comes out now and then a little more each day. I found him in the middle of the tank today til he saw me and he darted back into his cave. I think hes just adjusting to an established tank.
My coral beauty did the same when I had one just give him time to adjust and feed something that will get blown around a little and i think you'll see him dart out.
