Thanks for the info on the Test kits... Now I have more questions...

My tests resulted in as follows
KH in dKH = 12.2
Alkalinity in meq/L = 8.34

Calcium = 310ppm

I have my kalkwasser mix made up and want to start dripping it into my sump. Does everything look clear to do so? From what I have read it looks like my calcium is kinda low so adding the mix should raise that up. My question is what will it do to the Alkalinity and at what point do I wanna use my superbuffer dKH? Also is there anything I may be missing? Remember I am a complete newbie with no real hands on expierence.

You can really treat the two as seperate things.. at least I do. The point of dripping the Kalwasser is so that the PH doesnt rise rapidly (the effect if you just dumped it in the sump). If you're dosing, i dont think you'll see a noticable change in either PH or alkalinity.

I dose Kalwasser each night and add superbuffer whenever I add top off water. On my tank, the alkalinity declines over the course of 3 or 4 days... roughly about the same rate that my water evaporates from the tank. So everytime I add new top off water, I throw in 2 Tsp.'s of superbuffer and that keeps the alkalinity and PH up to about 9 - 10 and 8.1 - 8.3.
