How much LR to make a rock wall in 180g?

I am wondering how many pounds it would take to make a nice full wall in the back? Would you say about 200pounds. That is what I thought originally, but am not sure to be honest.

Maby someone could post a pic of what it would look like to have a wall, and how much LR they are using.

I use 110 kg in my 150 gal - that was plenty to have a full wall on the back and a centre piece further forward into the tank.

I've got about 300lbs in my 180. It's not a full 'wall-of-rock'. Yet it is really a few pounds more than might be optimal. My DSB helps, so I don't need to rely on LR exclusively.

I used a PVC frame to make my liverock go further. Check it out:

This is 270 lbs of fiji, 90 of which was "hand picked" for large pieces. I will probably add another 30 pounds or so to fill in some gaps. I would not have needed so much rock if I had designed the frame a little differently. My rock goes all the way up to 1" under the water in the back! There is still plenty of swimming room under and behind the rock.

I have 235 pounds of LR in my 175 gallon tank and I could use about 20 to 30 more pounds in my opinion. So I would say somewhere between 250 to the 300. That said, my tank has been running for 6 years with the 235 pounds and I've had no problems.

The PVC is more for looks, BTW. It keeps burrowing animals from toppling large sections of liverock. It really makes the liverock go farther! It is cheap and easy to do also.

I made my wall too steep and too high for my tastes. Also, if you are going to do this, get the little hand cutting tool at Home Depot (or Canadian Tire) that cuts PVC (intead of using a hack saw). This will save you so much work! I didn't even glue mine together!
