Urchin ate my horseshoe

Title says it all- I think its a longspine urchin, black in color about 8 inch diameter and neon blue lines outlining the body. ate him alive-cracked the shell and ate a few legs and damaged his body.

A pencil urchin took a bite out of my Blue Linkia Starfish. I believe it!:scratchch

I can see an urchin catching a linckia, but a living horseshoe crab

I kid you not deano, the urchin caught the crab attacked and dragged it halfway up the glass, at that point i noticed and separated them but it was too late for the crab.

I should have but at the moment my first thought was to separate them and try to save the crab. I guess the crab got trapped in a corner somehow.

my rainbow urchin picks up hermit crabs and carries them around all the time. the minute they get close he latches on to them, but he hasn't killed one yet, and he puts them down eventually.

Ive been wanting to get rid of this urchin for a year. I think this finally makes up my mind. time to go!

i'm not a big fan of urchins especially in a reef.

Agreed. but it came with the tank
