OK, I bought a rio 2100 on ebay, that I am gonna use to pump water from my RO resivoir into bottles for my reef and into my 55g freshwater. question is that I know you can restrict flow from a pump, but if I have the pump running and turn flow off at a valve after the pump for a short period, less than a minute, will this damage it? meaning I am gonna run a hose from the pump, long enough to reach my 55g fresh in the other room, I want to put a valve on the end so when I am done I can simply twist that, then walk back and turn off the rio.
thanks for any help you can give, and I know rio's suck but it wont be in my tank, the most it will electrocute will be the garbage can RO tank!

That won't hurt it a bit. Longer, and it will heat up, doing damage to bushings/bearings/motor. If you keep the time minimal, you'll have no problems.
