A question from the newbie:

What are your thoughts on having multiple tangs, whether it be the same species or different species in a tank? Like for example, I have 3 yellow tangs that I bought in November all at the same time. They are approx. 3" at the most, and I haven't seen any growth. They are in my 125, and I haven't had any problems yet, except with the occasional rear-end swat. I know a lot of people say that I am headed for a disaster ... I have also heard of people having success, and am hoping I am one of those!

Because your tank has the size (over 100gallons) and length needed to keep tangs happy you should be OK.
I have read that three yellow tangs together will not be a problem. I have not done this so I have no personal experience. There will always be some sparing between tangs.
If they are not growing and are a little thin, feed them unflavoured nori which you can buy cheap from any Asian grocery store. Add a little garlic extract to whet their appetite if they appear a little disinterested at first.

You may also try feeding them mysis shrimp, and spirulina flake. I have 2 tangs, a blonde naso and a desjardinii, and they both are nice a plump.

They eat like pigs when I feed them Formula 2 flake food. I tried the unflavored nori, but they didn't like it. I will try soaking it in garlic, though, to see if that will interest them!
