Hey everyone,

Question, those of you who are running calcium reactors off of presurized co2 cannisters, how do you have the setup going to your ca reactor?

Here is what I have, but I'm not to comfortable with it. 20lb CO2 bottle hooked up to regulator. Regulator connects to small hose (hose is larger than the aquarium air line the ca reactor uses). Then I have air line running up the small hose secured in the hose by clamps. This air line runs to a one-way air valve and into the ca reactor.

Is there a better way to do it?

Thanks for any advice/help,

I can't exactly picture your setup, but the pressure going into your reactor is quite low - what, about 5 -7 psi? As long as you don't have any air leaks, it should be fine, and it does sound similar to my set up. Use some soapy water every now and then to check for CO2 leaks.
BTW, I tried a 1 way valve to stop any back flow, and it didn't work worth a damn.

I have a bubble counter on mine, it runs at 14 bubbles every 15 seconds. I think all Knopp CA Reactors come with them, you could even buy a Knopp one for your CA Reactor. I think they also have a built in one way valve, there just a bit of a pain to fill with water you have to kind of milk it into them.
