Southdown Alternative for Houston!

And it's whiter than the SD I handpicked in PA on my last couple of trips...

This is the same aragonite sand that is sold by Caribsea and Southdown - washed and packaged for reefs. Global Fish on Bellaire has it in stock. It's cheaper than Caribsea Oolitic and MUCH easier than checking a suitcase of SD on my return flights from the east coast.

Houston, we have a problem!

If it's so readily available, then why do I have to go to a for the new tank I'm setting up, but don't want to have to "pay the midddleman" if I don't have to. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the tip. I went to Global Fish and Pets today and purchased seven bags of Sand. They have 40 lb bags. John gave me a very good price. I also noticed good prices throughout his store on pumps and additives,etc. You can find Global Fish N Pets through 411.com and even get a map. That's how I located him.
