Would a parabolic trough reflector be better than a "McDonald Arch reflector?" It seems like the parabolic would not send as much light back at the bulb and also keep it perpendicular to the water's surface. I guess this should be made of something shiny that reflects light vectors back accuratly, as opposed to scattered beams off of a white surface. Not sure the whole thing would work though, because I don't know if PC emits light in a perfect 360 arc or just in random directions from the outside of the bulb. What I have read is that most DIY gutter type reflectors only put 75-85% of the light back down into the tank. This seems pretty crap to me.
