New tank pics and question about spreading anemones

Hey all,

Well the 75 gallon is oficially 1.5 years ond today, so I took some pics...as usual, with the VHO lights on, they look a bit purple, so I took one with the lights off.....

Also, I am getting exponential growth of these anemones/polyps...they are about 1-2cm in diameter and bright green in the middle, brown on the outside and spread to all of the rocks.......are they some variation of aiptasia (sp)that is bad....or no problem....I have one pic at the end.....thanks

Oh....last thing, the tank is fine except my coral beauty looks like she has the start of HLE.....all others are OK....tank parameters are fine (0 Amon/0 Nitrite/5 Nitrate/0 Phosphate/ 1.024 SG) and no change in feeding....brine with some seaweed selects to graze on....any ideas?

also...if anyone knows about that urchin on the glass...he was a recent hitchiker....doesn;t seem to bother anyone

So they are aiptasia? I thought that aiptasia were more clear....."glass" anemones? Thanks for the input!

So, if I have Aiptasia, has anyone used Berghia Verrucicornis to control them?

Thse anemones are aiptasia. I suggest injecting them with a boiling kalk mixture. If left alone they will reach plague porportions. Whatever you do do not mash them. This will create many. If the urchin doesn't bother anyone leave it be. Most of them are algae eaters.

Do a search for anemonia majano.

Your nuisance anemones look like these, but it's hard to tell from the picture. The anemonia get "bubble tips" and aiptasia do not.
